Burglar-resistant radiation protection door OT RC3
Burglary protection for radioactive material stored in irradiation rooms
Radiation protection doors and gates
Radiation protection doors and gates are, among other things, used for therapeutic rooms for LINAC treatment, PET (positron emission tomography) or Brachy therapy.
The doors and gates can be produced top-hung on linear ball rails, as a swing door supported with special hinges, or floor-mounted as rail sliding gate. Depending on the radiation protection calculation, lead or concrete is used as gapless shielding material. More than 500 door and gate systems are operating smoothly in many countries.
Swing doors we have in standard sizes up to 10 tons, top-hung gates in standard sizes up to 28 tons and rail mounted sliding gates in standards up to 100 tons.
All our gates fulfil the required safety standards for radiation protection.
To avoid costly downtimes and possible termination of your insurance coverage, you should check whether the following (partially quoted) requirements are met by the offered radiation protection doors.
A review by a certification authority has shown that all our doors fulfil the requirements of the Machinery Directive.
Radiation protection hatches
Radiation protection hatches are one-way or two-way products; an option for a locking mechanism on either side is available on request (pass-through function).
Radiation protection windows
Radiation protection windows ensure that treatment with radionuclides or artificial radiators can be monitored. Special glass absorbs radioactive radiation; the frame is made of steel and lined with lead.

Safety standards of radiation protection doors
Radiation protection door to seal off a linear accelerator bunker, running on a floor-mounted rail. This door is built directly under the soffit and does not have an overlap on its main closing edge — this means the door opens and closes quickly.
